SUMMARY:Dan White
DESCRIPTION:Scott Amendola | Drums\nKai Lyons | Guitar\nAdam Klipple | Keys\nDan White | Sax \nA true catalyst for creativity\, Dan White brings dynamism to his every pursuit. Highly praised and in demand\, this multifaceted saxophonist\, bandleader\, composer\, arranger\, educator\, and all-around collaborative force elevates each scenario he inhabits. Whether pushing boundaries with his own singular projects\, reimagining the art of the groove in Huntertones\, firing on all cylinders with Cory Wong’s Hornheads\, enlivening the cool in Kurt Elling’s Super Blue\, or playing to the masses with Lake Street Dive\, White always aims high and hits the mark. \nNow residing in San Francisco\, White continues to spread joy with his own efforts and through continuing work with high-profile collaborators. His latest release\, due 11/13/26—Dee Dub\, with guitarist Charlie Hunter and drummer Scott Amendola—bears his initials both in title and spirit\, presenting a personalized mixture of originals and unique interpretations more uncovered than covered.

SUMMARY:Motoko Honda Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Motoko Honda  | Piano/Composition\nCory Wright  | Multi-woodwind\nMatt Small | Bass\nJordan Glenn | Drums \nThe music of pianist and composer Motoko Honda is to mainstream jazz what Brahms’s music was to the neatly packaged forms of the Classical period.” — Phillip Greenlief\, Art Forum\, Live at California Jazz Conservatory \n“The audience of young lovers and experienced culture seekers hardly moved a muscle for an hour and a half. Apparently we can still concentrate when the occasion demands it.” — Greg Burk\, Metal Jazz\, Live at Hammer Museum\, Los Angeles \nMotoko Honda is a critically acclaimed Japanese-born\, Bay Area-based pianist\, composer\, and sound artist known for her genre-bending\, interdisciplinary approach to music. Her Simple Excesses Quartet unites four of Northern California’s most versatile and innovative musicians—Honda (pianist-composer)\, Cory Wright (multi-woodwinds)\, Jordan Glenn (drums)\, and Matt Small (bass)—in a bold and imaginative blend of classical chamber music\, jazz\, free jazz\, and experimental sound. Their repertoire\, built from intimately crafted compositions\, bridges these diverse traditions into dynamic\, often surprising musical journeys. With nuanced interplay\, shifting textures\, and spontaneous improvisations\, their performances are as captivating for the performers as they are for the audience—like a soaring flight through ever-changing sonic landscapes. \n  \nMore about Motoko Honda and Simple Excesses Quartet\nhttps://www.motokohonda.com/simple-excesses-quartet
