Amelie Anna’s Jazz Head Quintet

Amelie Anna is percussionist and vocalist with the Blind Bandits and brings film and video game scores to life with her unique voice and hand drumming skills. She was also appointed Assistant Director of the Roots, Jazz and American Music Program at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM).
At SFCM, she studied with artists David Sanchez, Obed Calvaire, Edward Simon and jazz greats like Julian Lage, Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, or the late Randy Weston. Her mentors are Carlos Caro (Afro-Cuban Percussion), Jake Nissly (Jazz Drums) and Carmen Bradford (Jazz Vocals).
Featured as one of the first female emerging artists in Mario Guarneri’s Jazz In The Neighborhood program, Amelie Anna has shared the stage with renowned artists including: David Flores, Eric Jekabson, John Wiitala, Frank Martin, George Brooks, Anne Sajdera and Akira Tana.
In Europe, Big John Whitfield and the Vienna Soul Society, Alex Borek, Mashiko, Süperlove and Shady Pulp are some of the acts that Amelie toured and performed with until moving to the US. She has also collaborated with singer/songwriter Mel Verez on her hit single “I Can Handle This.”
