John “Yung Palowan” Palowitch is among the most sought-after saxophonists on the Bay Area music scene, bringing a unique force to every stage with searing melodies and gripping rhythmic patterns, using guitar pedals to craft modern sounds. John’s band this night will feature the vocal stylings of Raphael Maartine, a rising star rapper who headlines local venues and is one of the most active leaders of Bay Area underground hip-hop. The group will do a mix of both Raphael’s and John’s originals, as well as jazz interpretations of R&B and hip-hop throwbacks.
