The Tammy Hall Quartet returns to Mr. Tipple’s. She always brings a deep yet playful approach to the music. She’s at home in nearly any musical setting from standards to surprising takes on popular music.
Jennifer Bryce was moved to sing at age 7 when she first heard a recording of Ella Fitzgerald. Since then her musical influences have ranged from Stevie Wonder, Dianne Reeves, Etta James to Meredith Monk. Her mother, Julia Banks Bryce, a well-known regional painter and father, writer, A.W. Bryce, gave her a childhood steeped in the contrasts of high-culture urban New York and the lush forests of Vermont on her grandparents farm. The contrast of the natural world and the urban mosaic continue to inform her sensibility to this day: a sense of color and balance, rhythm and stillness.
Jennifer has appeared in clubs throughout the Bay Area: Yoshi’s, Rasselas, Mason Street, to name a few. She has also toured in the Northeast and part of Europe.
