Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Michael Wang is a drummer and producer who now
resides in London. He recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School
of Music, where he studied with Kendrick Scott and John Riley.
While in New York City, Michael was a member of several bands which performed a wide
variety of musical styles including straight-ahead jazz, funk, alternative, hip hop, and free jazz.
He creates music with authenticity and is eager to disrupt expectations. Electronic music, jazz,
and hip hop are among Michael’s strongest influences, and he builds on the already abundant
cross pollination of these musical styles. By blurring the lines between live, recorded, and
produced sounds, Michael hopes to discover new ways of presenting music.
