Ralph Alessi
Ralph Alessi is a trumpetplayer/composer and ECM recording artist. Over his career he has played andrecorded with the likes of Fred Hersch, Steve Coleman, Ravi Coltrane, JasonMoran, Sam Rivers, Tim Berne, Uri Caine and many others. In January 2026, he willrelease his 5th record for the ECM label. As an educator, he hastaught at the Eastman School of Music, NYU, University of Nevada-Reno, HKB-Bernand currently is a visiting professor at the Accademia Nazionale del Jazz inSiena,Italy. Since 2001, he has been the founder/director of the School forImprovisational Music, an international workshop series that takes place inBrooklyn, NY (www.schoolforimprov.org).
